ABOUT THE WORK:
Ths exhibition, ‘human -not- natural disorders’, cultivated collectively by the Un-war Space Lab, is an entangled research that follows processes surrounding rivers and their toxic habitats: Drava-Maribor (2022, production KID KIBLA), Neretva-Mostar (2017- ongoing, Un-War Space Lab) and Seine-Paris (2018, Servet Cihangiroglu). The exhibition will also contain samples, forms and experiences made during the Curatorial school ‘Accidental or non-curatorial practices after the human destruction of the Earth and interspecies life’, held in Split and the Neretva River Delta between 23-27 March 2023.
Accidental and non-curatorial practices create and destroy at the same time, focusing on the site-specific materials, reality and fiction, movements and emotions of all participants while cultivating an experimental space of inclusion and transformation of violence of any kind.
Un-war Space Lab is a transmedia research-based practice on material transformations of rivers, land, architecture, and the interspecies society during and after the war or other destructive processes; it is led by Armina Pilav – feminist, architect, and researcher in ecologies of war destruction. It functions as a fluid collective of researchers and practitioners across the disciplines of landscape architecture, film, archaeology, visual arts, and environmental humanities, to mention a few.
