SOUNDSCAPES of TOMORROW

SOUNDSCAPES of TOMORROW is a transnational cooperation project that treats cities, islands and neighbourhoods as listening laboratories for the futures we want to live in. Starting from the simple act of listening, the project brings together artists, cultural workers, researchers and local communities to explore how sound can trace social change, ecological crisis and emerging forms of solidarity across Europe.

Through residencies, artistic laboratories, public programmes and collective research, SOUNDSCAPES of TOMORROW supports new works of sound art, experimental music, radio and listening-based performance. Each partner focuses on specific contexts – from islands and post-industrial zones to peripheral neighbourhoods and care institutions – inviting communities to co-create sound walks, listening sessions, workshops and site-specific interventions that respond to their everyday realities.

Alongside physical events, the project develops a shared digital platform and open tools for working with sound, making methodologies, recordings and artistic outcomes accessible beyond the project’s timeline. In this way, SOUNDSCAPES of TOMORROW aims to build a sustainable network of independent spaces and initiatives working with sound, listening and critical urban/ecological practices, strengthening collaboration between local scenes while amplifying underrepresented voices.
