NMG@PRAKTIKA 2027 – OPEN CALL FOR EXHIBITION PROJECTS

Mavena – 36 njezinih čuda invites artists, collectives and curators to submit projects for the NMG@PRAKTIKA 2027 programme.

The work you submit may be finished or still in development, and it may have been presented previously. If you are proposing a new project, the application should make clear what the work is intended to become and what it needs in order to happen.

What can be submitted?

  • solo and group exhibitions
  • spatial, sound, video art and new-media installations
  • performances, actions and participatory projects
  • interdisciplinary and research-based projects
  • curatorial concepts involving works by other artists

We are particularly interested in proposals that explore the relationships between artistic work, space, technology, the body, audiences and the contemporary social context.

We also welcome proposals for new productions and curatorial formats.

Who can apply?

Individual artists, artistic collectives and curators from Croatia and abroad are eligible to apply. We particularly encourage applications from younger-generation and early-career artists, but there is no age limit.

Applications may be submitted in Croatian or English.

What does NMG@PRAKTIKA provide?

Selected projects will receive:

  • a programme slot during 2027
  • curatorial and production dialogue throughout the development of the project
  • organisational, technical and logistical support within the programme’s available capacities
  • communication, promotion and professional documentation of the exhibition
  • possible production co-funding, depending on the project’s needs and the programme’s confirmed funding
  • an artist’s or curator’s fee, travel expenses and accommodation, as well as transport of artworks where required

The programme is planned to take place at Klub Kocka Gallery, Dom mladih, Split. The final date, scope of production and adaptation of each project to the venue will be agreed with the selected artist, curator or collective.

Applications

Applications will be accepted from 9 to 23 September 2026, until 23:59 CEST, exclusively through the online application form.

For additional questions or clarifications, please contact us at mavena@mavena.hr.

Applications will be reviewed and the exhibition projects selected by Mavena’s expert team. All applicants will be notified of the results by email. The results will also be published on the organisation’s official channels during October 2026.

Mavena has continuously organised the NMG@PRAKTIKA programme at Dom mladih in Split since 2012. The programme promotes the work of young artists from Croatia and abroad and creates space for the development, production and presentation of contemporary artistic practices.

The programme is organised in cooperation with Koalicija udruga mladih, Multimedijalni kulturni centar Split and Platforma Doma mladih, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, the City of Split and the Kultura Nova Foundation.

More information about previous exhibitions and other programmes, including the Curatorial School, is available on the Mavena website and the organisation’s official social media channels.
